the only bad artists are those whose work perpetuates discrimination or causes undeserved harm. there is no “aesthetic” excuse for fatphobia. humans are diverse. if you’d like to draw them, learn to draw fat bodies.

BASTROP, Texas (KXAN) — Bastrop County investigators are looking for a 15-year-old girl who left her home July 16 and they want the public’s help to find her.
Nandi Taylor Faye is considered at-risk and needs to be found “as soon as possible to prevent any harm,” investigators say. She went missing from the Cedar Creek area.
She’s described by the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office as 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 120 pounds and wears glasses.
naturally this person is white and 37
actually this is pissing me off. as someone who’s had their name made fun of by peers & mangled and mispronounced by white people, this is the type of strawman argument that reflects racism more than anything else. pronouncing people’s names properly is a basic courtesy and as a white person commenting on a post made by a person of colour (the original tweet was made by a Black woman) you are willfully ignoring the racialised nature of the issue in favour of rationalising & justifying your failure to pronounce nonwhite names. like this is literally an attempt at overruling the point of the original tweet by claiming that the axis on which you’re “oppressed” as a white person (neurodivergency) is equivalent to, if not greater than, the multiple oppressions that a poc - in this case specifically a Black woman - experiences. your eyes probably glazed over at being implicated in the tweet and you jumped to write an essay defending the faults that whiteness has allowed you instead of confronting them honestly. please kindly get the fuck over yourself
